There are over 3.2Million Orphans and abandoned children in Uganda who are left to care for themselves. This is why Uganda needs more organizations or individuals to do child sponsorship like never before.

Child Sponsorship in Uganda Usually, these childrensleep on the streets of Kampala and regularly on an empty stomach.

These children lack all the necessities of life which include; Education, Shelter, Food and water to mention but a few.

They are left helpless and victims to Violence, Crime, Sexual harassment and non- preventable diseases.

 

Through child sponsorship, a life of a Ugandan Orphaned / abandoned child in Uganda is always rescued and changed.

What Does It Mean To Sponsor A Child In Uganda?

Child sponsorship in Uganda is something that goes beyond picking money out of your wallet or bank and giving it to the child. It rather goes as far as mentoring that child and inspiring him or her.

 

Child sponsorship is a program which connects a passionate individual who is willing/interested in offering both financial and emotional support to a child in Uganda.

 

These children may be either orphans or those that have been abandoned by their families. Child Sponsorship gives a child an opportunity to grow up emotionally and physically health and also access education in a safe environment which is always a life changing experience.

 

How Do You Become A Child Sponsor In Uganda?

It is only in Uganda where things get easily done in the shortest period of time especially when it comes to child sponsorship. Below are some of the steps followed in case you want to become a child sponsor in Uganda;

  • Choose an organization in Uganda that offers child sponsorship programs.

 

  • Take time and study carefully about what they do and how they do it.

 

  • Take a look at the sponsorship fee required by the organization and see whether the fees fit your budget.

 

  • Ask for pictures of children who need sponsorship and then choose your best child to sponsor.

 

  • Ask whether you are allowed to visit the child or whether the child is allowed to pay you a visit where necessary. This is because some Ugandan organizations do not allow direct contact between sponsors and sponsored children.

 

NOTE: In the event that you have all the above and many other questions answered, you are good to go. Before you know it you have already become a child sponsor in Uganda.

How Can You Be Part Of the program? 

  • You can contribute towards a child’s stay in school by paying for his/her school fees and school requirements

 

  • You can contribute towards a child’s housing by funding for his/her shelter.

 

  • You can contribute towards the health facilities of his/her health.

 

What Happens After You Have Become A Child Sponsor In Uganda?

  • You will receive a photo of your sponsored child with his/her personal information attached such that you get knowledge of who they are.

 

  • You will receive letters from him/her on a termly basis telling you about his/her progress in life and you as well write back to them.

 

  • You get annual updates about your sponsored child.
